About Course

This module introduces participants to the structured process of research — the backbone of credible data work. We will explore different types of research, from qualitative interviews to quantitative surveys, and how to choose the right approach based on the goals of a project. The session covers how to define a research problem, formulate research questions, and design studies that produce reliable and valid results. Ethical considerations will be emphasized, including how to ensure informed consent, maintain confidentiality, and avoid bias. Participants will also be introduced to sampling techniques and the importance of representativeness in producing results that reflect reality. By the end, they will be able to conceptualize and design a simple research study tailored to real-world needs.
